Cisthene was a location near the City of Atlantis. Medusa hid herself here in order to be far away from people to avoid killing them since she was cursed as a monster. Hercules travelled to the shores where he found her, and hoped to sacrifice himself to lift the curse. However, she refused to allow him to do this. (The Price of Hope)
