The Madness of Hercules is the eighth episode of the second series of BBC's Atlantis and the twenty-first episode of the overall series. It is written by Richard McBrien and directed by Lawrence Gough.
Synopsis[]
Mеlas continues to betray Jason and Ariadne by ordering Jason's execution to save his daughter who is held hostage by Pasiphae. Hercules is captured and imprisoned after he attempts to free Jason, and Ariadne and her advisor Delmos attempt to follow in his footsteps, but they too are arrested by Cilix, another traitor to their cause. Hercules reasons with Medusa, begging her to reveal the truth of the Oracle's death for the wrongly-accused Jason. With those who threaten her position of power now in prison, Pasiphae takes the city and declares herself the ruler of the throne, with the army now hers.
